The electricity and phone bills will keep pouring in. Your boss will pressurize you for giving the deliverables on time or probably before time. The day will seem to have lesser hours and you will always have to make way for something which you never expected would pop up. The responsibilities will always seem to pile up but you will have to effectively manage them and sail through the stress associated with them. But most of us are inefficient when it comes to dealing with stress. So what are the ways that can help you conveniently combat stress? Let’s find out:

Eating foods that keep stress at bay

Fighting stress is not only about practicing yoga or fitting 30 minutes of meditation in your already jam packed schedule. If you thought that food was no way related to stress, then you are absolutely wrong. Generally, people would make improper food choices when they are stressed and end up gulping unhealthy junk food which not only hampers your health but also aggravates your stress levels. Eating the right foods can help relieve you from stress:

1. Spinach: Since childhood we have been watching the famous cartoon character, Popeye who carries a pack of spinach to protect his lady love from the antagonist, Bluto. Well, spinach acts as a saviour from our antagonist Bluto in the form of stress when it comes to real life. The veggie is loaded with magnesium that reduces stress levels and leaves you feeling calm.

2. Salmon: Known for having rich levels of healthy fats, Omega 3 fatty acids, Salmons promote blood circulation and combats with stress hormones thus helping you deal with stress. So pack salmon for lunch thrice a week.

3. Walnuts: Yet another source of omega 3 essential fatty acids is walnuts. Walnuts make a healthy snack and can be easily carried anywhere. Munch them for a healthy skin and hair as well.

4. Citrus fruits: Citrus fruits such as oranges are loaded with vitamin C. Vitamin C strengthens the immune system as it is an antioxidant. In addition, it works efficiently to reduce stress levels.

Apart from eating healthy foods, it is also important to eat food at the right time, eating smaller meals at frequent intervals and having a healthy breakfast. Eating a protein rich breakfast is cherry on the cake. Avoid processed foods as much as you can as well as foods which are high in sugar content.

Cook up a hobby

Find something that really interests you. It should be something that keeps you busy when you are not working. Activities such as listening to music, reading your favourite book or solving puzzles keep your mind fresh and calm. There are tons of hobbies that can be adopted which not only divert your mind but also make you smarter. For instance you can learn different foreign languages, learn a musical instrument, collect coins or stamps and likewise to increase your brain functioning. You will not only find a way to deal with stress but add a lot to your personality by building your confidence levels.

Interact with people

No matter how reserved you are, make way for new people. Develop connections and interact with new people. Connecting with others will help you learn from their experiences and share your day to day challenges with people who offer you a good support system. Man, at the end of the day is a social animal, so the significance of this point cannot be ignored.

Change your attitude for good

It is very important to have a positive approach towards life. This way you will not only make your life simpler but send across positive vibes to people around you. Nobody wants to be with a person who has a pessimistic approach towards life. Remember, your life is what you make of it. If you take it as an ordeal, it will treat you likewise. But if you treat every day as a challenge and do not surrender, everyday would be a roller coaster ride.
